Well, actually, she’s asleep, lying on my tummy. Man, life just doesn’t get any better than this! I can feel her breathing and I can hear her making ‘baby’ noises. New babies rock!
My laptop is balance on the arm of my chair – and I’m typing with one hand! But, alas, I must be faithful to my loyal readers. As most of you know, I’m an avid reader, and every week, I read hundreds of personal finance articles. Today, I’ll share a few of my favorites.
Articles From My Fellow Personal Finance Bloggers
I have been using eBay for several years, but I’ve never sold anything to an international customer. But, after reading this article from Money Smart Life, about ways to profit from the falling dollar, that will change.
The Digerati Life suggests that frugality is ‘in’ – due to rising food prices. I must say, I find that food prices are up, across the board. Generation X wonders if higher food prices are actually good for us. Keeping with the food theme – The Family CEO started a very good series about how to save money when buying groceries.
The Sun’s Financial Diary just purchased some gold – a gold bar, in fact. How cool is that? The only gold that I own is in my wedding ring. Man, now I want me some gold bars!
Lazy Man is at the Finovate conference, but before he left, he compiled the 150th Carnival of Personal Finance.
My Two Dollars has some suggestions for inexpensive ways to clean your house. I’ve used the vinegar and baking soda tip to unclog a shower drain, and it really does work.
Blunt Money asks ‘what do you see?’ – and reminds us that we might need to take a second-look at our financial situations.
Clever Dude bought an 84lb air conditioner – from Amazon – and had to return it! Read the post to see if he gives Amazon a thumbs up or thumbs down for their return policy.
Single Guy borrowed $300 – and now he owes $400 to a VERY demanding lender.
Mrs. Micah has a recipe – for tamale pie – which I’ve never heard of, but which sounds delicious. I printed a copy for next week’s grocery store trip.
Finally, My Money Blog has a very informative post about how to purchase paper I bonds. I love step-by-step guides, and this is a good one.
We must read some of the same blogs, LOL. 😉 But most of those were new to me, so thanks for the links. I agree that frugality is “in” at the moment. I’ve seen much more about frugal living across the board recently than I used to.
Thanks for the mention NCN!
Great links, NCN! Thanks for including me.
I think you’ll like the pie. One of our favorite recipes to date! And making it with turkey is a lot less expensive but still yummy. Of course it doesn’t taste like beef if that’s what you’re really into.
And yay for new babies. I spend 3 days a week with newborns and they’re the best ever. So little and yet so alive.
Thanks for mentioning my post 🙂
