No Credit Needed Network Now Accepting New Members

My wife is an educator, so she’ll be headed back to the classroom in a few weeks.  We have been so busy this summer – and our financial records reflect a slight lack of discipline.  We haven’t overspent, but we haven’t saved us much as I would have liked, either.  But, frankly, with all that we’ve had going on, I’m amazed that we’ve done as well as we have.

Now that summer is drawing to a close, we’ll have a chance to resume our normal schedule.  I don’t know about you, but the recent spike in gasoline prices have made staying on budget more challenging than ever.  Our gasoline category keeps increasing, month after month.  And, using my grocery store price book, I’ve noticed that food prices have gone up, rather dramatically, over the last year.  Our entertainment category keeps shrinking and is almost down to the levels we had it at when we were aggressively paying off debt.

Changing the subject, those of you visiting the site will notice (yet another) site redesign.  I won’t go into the details of the changes, but I will say – I missed the RED!  Hopefully, you’ll dig the new look and feel.  I know I like it much more than the laid back green-and-brown.

I’m headed to the bank.  I’ve been so busy the past two weeks, I haven’t had a chance to deposit my paycheck.  It feels weird, even after years of living on a budget, to be free of the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle.  I can remember the days of rushing to the back, worried that a check would bounce, knowing that every dollar I was about to deposit had already been spent.  Man, I wouldn’t go back to those days for all the credit card reward points in the world.

Introducing My Newest Site – 99 Changes

We are home from a wonderful week of vacation.  We stayed in Palm Coast, Florida.  The weather was amazing, our condominium exceeded our expectations, and the kids had a blast.  As for me, I feel like a new man.  But, I did miss two things – blogging and podcasting!

I hope you’ll take the time to check out my podcast – over at No Credit Needed Podcast.  I’ve just recorded and released a new episode: No Credit Needed Podcast Episode 7 Of 2008.  In the episode, I talk a little about a new, secret-for-now project that I’m working on.  I want to thank so many of you for listening to the podcast and subscribing the the podcast feed.  As of today, there are over 700 subscribers and the last episode was downloaded more than 1200 times!

Late Saturday or early Sunday, I’ll have more information about the new project.  Suffice to say, I’m excited about trying something new and I can hardly wait to share it with my readers and listeners.

Home From Vacation With A New Episode Of The NCN Podcast

For those of you who are visiting via the web, you’ll notice that I have made some pretty major changes to the look and feel of No Credit Needed. My old theme isn’t compatible with the latest version of Wordpress (the software that I use to manage my websites). I hope that the new theme will make things easier to find. New Theme For No Credit Needed

We are home with the new baby.  She’s doing so well and I want to thank all of you who responded with ‘well wishes’ and prayers.  My wife and I took her for her first checkup today and she is a healthy, happy baby girl.  My mother-in-law is staying with us this week, helping with the baby and our other two kids.  Big sister and big brother love baby number three and are enjoying showing her pictures to their classmates.

I am ready to get back to blogging about personal finance -

I’ve already started to publish updates over at No Credit Needed Network.  I am about 1 week behind.  Updated charts will be published, every hour, around the clock, until I catchup.

I’m moving forward with my weight loss, over at No. Calories Needed.

Friday morning, I’ll release a new episode of the No Credit Needed Podcast.

I want to thank you all for your patience, as I work blogging into our new 3-kid household.  I love writing about personal finance and I have a new series of posts that I think you will really enjoy.  Over the next few weeks, I have several topics to write about – including how the new baby changes our budget, increasing our life insurance coverage, and why I decided not to sell our old car.

Back In The Saddle

I usually refrain from ‘blogging about blogging’, but March has been a banner month for No Credit Needed. As you can see from the graphic in the right-hand column, No Credit Needed now has more than 3000 subscribers. Traffic to the site also reached an all-time high. Upgrading Site

I don’t know how many of you are using StumbleUpon – but I’ve been using it for the past few weeks and it’s pretty amazing. Basically, you visit the StumbleUpon website, add the StumbleUpon bar to your browser, and start ‘Stumbling’. You can set up a profile for your favorite types of sites – and StumbleUpon will ‘guide’ you to sites, based on your profile settings.
