While you have a good situation with your employer currently, buying your own house for cash will be even better, and the place will be yours! (Well, there will still be insurance and taxes, but you know what I mean). We are almost all the way out of our consumer debt ($25k => $2k) and it feels good to make that much headway! Now, once school is finished, we can attack the mortgage and the student loan beast.
