NCN,
I 'moved' my specific goal money, like a new/used car or vacation to either a 6 month CD (vacation) or a 2 year CD (car) in order to earn more interest. My $10,000 emergency fund earns almost 5% in a money market. However, to keep me on the straight and narrow, if it drops below the 10K, so does the interest (to about 1.5% ouch!) I try to keep a few extra bucks above the emergency fund for fast liquidity (like a home repair).
You are doing a great service to your readers. You rock!
