NCN, I understand what you’re saying, although at the time of the interview I didn’t. It’s clear that Jean’s view of debt is not the same as yours or mine. Something along those lines came up in another segment of the broadcast (not yours) that I plan to blog about.

NCN, I understood exactly what you were saying. I think in the flow of conversation Jean misunderstood and portrayed it incorrectly, but then communicating is always tricky. Good for you! You have a great situation.

Depends on whether you could really find a place to rent for so reasonable. And if you bought you’d have to pay to maintain. Lots of assumptions but I think you’re getting the better end of the deal.

I completely understand what you are saying. My brother is in the same situation. He is a minister at a local church in Alabama and part of his salary includes whats called a Parsonage.It is provided on behalf of the members of his church. He has colleagues who for various reasons don’t have that option. But, as you mentioned are compensated much more.

JEAN made it sound like it was easy for you to pay down your debt because you didn’t have rent/mortgage. Good point to remember on your interview whirlwind to say you earn a rent-adjusted salary.
