From Wikipedia: Minnesota has a 6.5% state sales tax. Food and Clothing are exempt from this tax. Municipalities may be allowed by the State Legislature to institute local option taxes. An additional 0.5% is imposed in St. Paul and Minneapolis, bringing the total sales tax to 7%. As of Jan. 1 2007 an additional 0.15% will be imposed by Hennepin County to finance the new Minnesota Twins stadium.
